Based out of studios in Arizona, Andrew Peters is nationally recognized for his painterly interpretations of the American landscape. His elegant plein air paintings are born of his insatiable love for the open road and his endless quest for new subject matter. For more than twenty years Andy Peters has traveled the world, seeking inspiration on a daily basis. He says, “Traveling is my commute. I have my equipment and I go and seek a certain type of beauty. I’ve learned to find that beauty anywhere. The creation of a painting is about as intimate an experience as you can have of a place.” His travels usually take him to places that appeal to him not only visually but on an emotional level as well. Over the years he has painted in Africa, Central and South America, Ireland, Spain, Morocco and Romania. Andrew Peters was the 1997 recipient of the Gallery Award of Excellence at the Rocky Mountain Invitations show held at the Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah. Most recently, he was invited to exhibit with the 2003 Gene Autry Masters of the American West show. When not on the road, Andy and his wife call Arizona home.
